LITTLE PLUMSTEAD

Client: MPH Groundworks

Project Value: £90,000

Duration: 2 months

We were awarded the package to install approximately 140 m of adoptable foul sewer inside an active carriageway. This included road closures, bus shuttles, services avoidance, deep excavations and reinstatement.

All Traffic management, section 50 adoption
licenses and public relations were provided in house
along with co-ordination with Anglian Water, school bus routes and a private housing development were to be kept operational alongside access to a stately park and local businesses at the far end of the working site.

Pre-planning with the Streetworks team, Highways
Inspector, Site management and local residents was
critical to enable the smooth delivery of the project.
Value engineering was introduced and a lightweight
adoptable pipe system installed, this helped reduce
the programme of works.

The project was completed on time and on budget, with both Anglian Water and the main client praising the effort of staff and management.

This project has lead us to incorporate new products on many other works, reducing the timeframe, environmental impact and providing cost savings.
